Pulwama Martyr Major Dhoundiyal’s Wife Joins Indian Army As Lieutenant
Following the footsteps of her husband Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, Nikita Kaul has donned an olive green army uniform on Saturday as she was commissioned into the Indian army.
Army’s northern command Lt Gen Y K Joshi put stars on her shoulders during a passing out ceremony held at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She has been commissioned as a Lieutenant.
Major Vibhuti and Nikita were married for nine months, when he was killed in a terrorist attack in Pulwama in 2019. After her husband’s death, she cleared the Short Service Commission Examination and started her training in Chennai.
