Protesting wrestlers to immerse their medals in Ganga

New Delhi: Angered by racism in America, legendary Boxer Muhammad Ali threw his 1960 Olympic gold medal into the Ohio River, something similar is going to happen in India.

The wrestlers who have been protesting since April 23 demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, have announced that they immerse their medals in the Ganga river at 6 pm on Tuesday and then sit on an indefinite hunger strike at India Gate.

On Sunday, Wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, Sangeeta Phogat along with other wrestlers were detained by police when they marching towards the new parliament. Some of the female wrestlers were manhandled.
