Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik on Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik, Maharashtra, on January 12th, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, celebrated as National Youth Day. The event will witness the active participation of over 88,000 volunteers across the country, coordinated through the ‘MY Bharat’ digital platform (https://mybharat.gov.in).

This year’s National Youth Day celebration is uniquely designed to engage youth from various fields and regions. The Department of Youth Affairs, in collaboration with multiple government departments, will organize events in 763 districts nationwide. The theme of “MY Bharat” emphasizes volunteerism and aims to channel the energy of the youth towards nation-building.

The mega program in each district will commence with a floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda, followed by a cultural showcase highlighting the diverse heritage and talents of the youth. The program will feature winners of Yuva Utsav and local talents. Additionally, partner ministries will set up stalls focusing on various themes, including Traffic Awareness, Nutrition & Diet, Products of KVIC startups, and PMEGP beneficiaries.

As part of the celebration, trained Road Safety volunteers will conduct awareness events in major cities and 750 district headquarters. They will handle traffic at choke points and disseminate information about road safety. Volunteers will also visit Anganwadi centers for story-telling sessions and share information about government schemes.

The National Youth Festival aims to create a spirit of inclusivity, with Youth Clubs contributing to the vibrant atmosphere. The ‘MY Bharat’ digital platform allows volunteers to register for events, indicating their interest and sharing their participation through photos and media.

This expansive and collaborative approach underscores the government’s commitment to actively engage and empower the youth, fostering a sense of responsibility and patriotism. The National Youth Day celebrations promise to be a dynamic showcase of India’s young talents and their collective dedication to nation-building.
