Dubai: In a virtual ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and the Ruler of Dubai, jointly laid the foundation stone for Bharat Mart at Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone in Dubai. The prestigious project, to be constructed by DP World, aims to bolster India-UAE bilateral trade, utilizing the strategic location and logistical capabilities of Jebel Ali Port.

During the ceremony, both leaders expressed confidence in the transformative impact Bharat Mart will have on bilateral trade between India and the UAE. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the potential of Bharat Mart in promoting exports from India’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The platform will serve as an effective avenue for these sectors to connect with international buyers in key regions such as the Gulf, West Asia, Africa, and Eurasia.

The foundation stone laying ceremony marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between India and the UAE to strengthen economic ties and enhance trade relations. Bharat Mart, situated at the heart of Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone, is poised to become a vital hub for Indian businesses, facilitating their outreach to a broader international market.

The leaders expressed optimism about the positive outcomes that Bharat Mart will generate, fostering economic growth, job creation, and increased opportunities for Indian businesses in the global marketplace. The project aligns with the shared vision of both nations to deepen economic collaboration and promote inclusive development.
