President Droupadi Murmu Encourages Self-Reliance Among Tribal Women in Rajasthan

Beneshwar Dham: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, addressed a gathering of tribal women associated with various Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Rajasthan at Beneshwar Dham. Commending the resolve of India to become self-reliant, the President emphasized that true self-reliance can only be achieved when every unit of the country becomes self-sufficient.

During her address, President Murmu lauded the efforts of Self Help Groups and their members for their contribution to promoting self-reliance. She highlighted that SHGs not only provide essential working capital but also play a commendable role in creating human and social capital.

Expressing her admiration for tribal societies, the President stated that there are valuable lessons that the broader society can learn from them. Tribal communities serve as examples of self-governance, demonstrating how to live in harmony with nature joyfully and with minimal resources, without causing harm to the environment. The President underscored the importance of learning from tribal communities, especially in the context of women empowerment.

President Murmu emphasized the need for society to actively implement the concept of women-led development. She urged the promotion of education and skill development among women, envisioning a future where women become equal partners in the progress of the nation and the world. The President expressed confidence that women would play a pivotal role in shaping India into a developed nation, contributing to a bright future through their successes.
