
Chhatarpur: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced a grand Mass Wedding ceremony organized by Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti at Gadha, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, today. The event, held to support and celebrate the union of newlywed couples, witnessed a large gathering of dignitaries, community leaders, and families.
Addressing the gathering, President Murmu highlighted the country’s transition from women-development to women-led development, urging society to play an active role in empowering women. She stressed the importance of prioritizing women’s education, health, and safety, emphasizing that even small efforts in these areas contribute significantly to their empowerment. She encouraged women to pursue education and strive for self-reliance, underscoring that their progress is vital for the overall development of society.
Reflecting on India’s rich spiritual heritage, the President noted that saints and social reformers have long guided people by challenging social evils and discrimination based on caste and gender. She recalled the teachings of revered figures such as Guru Nanak, Sant Ravidas, Sant Kabir Das, Meera Bai, and Sant Tukaram, whose messages of equality and righteousness have left an indelible mark on Indian society. She expressed confidence that contemporary spiritual leaders can continue to play a crucial role in fostering a self-reliant, harmonious, and environmentally conscious India.
