New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu met with state civil services officers attending the 126th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The officers, recently promoted and inducted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), received words of encouragement and guidance from the President as they embark on their new responsibilities in public administration.
Congratulating the officers on their career milestone, President Murmu emphasized their role as leaders and change-makers, urging them to inspire and set an example through dedication and integrity. She called on them to adopt a national and inclusive approach in their administrative duties, ensuring that governance remains efficient, transparent, and people-centric.
Highlighting the essence of good governance, the President underscored the need for responsiveness and sensitivity toward public welfare. She reminded the officers that their decisions and policies must prioritize the needs of the poor and marginalized, ensuring that government schemes and initiatives are implemented effectively and equitably.
“The essence of governance lies in how well it responds to the concerns of the people,” she stated. “A citizen-centric administration prioritizes the welfare of the most vulnerable, ensuring that every policy contributes to the nation’s overall development.”
With climate change and environmental degradation posing significant challenges, President Murmu stressed the need to promote eco-friendly policies while ensuring that economic development benefits all sections of society, particularly the disadvantaged and marginalized. She urged the officers to integrate principles of sustainability and inclusiveness into their decision-making processes.
“As policymakers and administrators, you have the responsibility to balance development with sustainability, ensuring that future generations inherit a better world,” she said.
The meeting served as a crucial interaction for the newly inducted IAS officers, reinforcing their commitment to ethical leadership, social equity, and effective governance as they step into key administrative roles across the country.
