Siachen: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, visited the Siachen Base Camp today, paying her heartfelt tributes at the Siachen War Memorial, a symbol of the immense sacrifices made by soldiers since the launch of Operation Meghdoot on the Siachen Glacier on April 13, 1984. The operation marked the beginning of India’s enduring presence in the world’s highest battlefield, where countless soldiers have laid down their lives in defense of the nation.

During her visit, President Murmu addressed the soldiers posted in the region, expressing deep pride and admiration for their unwavering dedication.
