Bhubaneswar: Extensive preparations are underway as President Droupadi Murmu gears up for her official visit to Odisha from December 3 to 7. The visit includes a packed itinerary of cultural, educational, and developmental engagements across multiple districts.
A state-level meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, was held at Lokseva Bhavan to ensure seamless coordination for the President’s visit. The meeting was attended by top officials, including Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Satyabrat Sahu, and Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania. Collectors from Puri, Khordha, and Mayurbhanj, along with naval officers, also participated in discussions.
Key aspects such as security, accommodations, medical support, road repairs, uninterrupted utilities, and media coverage were reviewed. A Home Department-operated control room will oversee all activities during the visit.
Itinerary Highlights
December 3: President Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar by an Air Force flight and unveil a statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu at Niladri Vihar in the evening.
December 4: The President will visit the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri, attend the 75th-anniversary celebrations of Gopabandhu Ayurveda College, and witness a naval demonstration at Puri’s Blue Flag beach.
December 5: In Bhubaneswar, she will participate in the 40th convocation of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology and inaugurate a new judicial court complex.
December 6: President Murmu will pay homage at the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Bhubaneswar on his death anniversary before heading to Mayurbhanj. There, she will interact with students and villagers, flag off a vehicle for Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, and perform rituals at the Punyeshwar Mahadev Temple.
December 7: The President will visit Bangriposhi to lay the foundation stone for railway and development projects, including the Rairangpur Tribal Research Centre and Sub-Divisional Hospital. She will return to New Delhi via Kalaikunda Airport after completing her engagements.
Preparations Across Districts
Collectors from Puri, Khordha, and Mayurbhanj have been directed to supervise district-level arrangements. Special Secretary of the Home Department Radha Kishan Sharma presented a detailed plan for the visit, covering carcade management, temporary accommodations, and emergency response measures.
The programs also include events postponed earlier due to Cyclone Dana.
President Murmu’s visit is expected to highlight Odisha’s cultural heritage and developmental strides while fostering connections with the state’s people.
