New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Nukaga Fukushiro, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, and his delegation, which included members of the Japanese Parliament and business leaders from major Japanese companies, for a crucial meeting. The discussions centered on enhancing the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with a strong emphasis on people-to-people cooperation and parliamentary exchanges between the two nations.

The meeting highlighted the progress made towards the current target of 5 trillion Japanese Yen investment set for the 2022-2027 period, and explored strategies for strengthening business and economic ties beyond 2027. Key areas of focus included traditional manufacturing, modern technologies such as semiconductors and electric vehicles (EVs), and green and clean energy initiatives. Both sides reiterated the importance of the timely completion of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project, a flagship venture under their collaboration.
