Phase 4 Elections: 1717 Candidates Set to Contest Across 10 States/UTs
New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 continue to gather momentum as Phase 4 approaches, with a total of 1717 candidates set to vie for seats across 96 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) spread across 10 States and Union Territories (UTs). Following the closure of the nomination process on April 25, 2024, a staggering 4264 nominations were filed, out of which 1970 were deemed valid after scrutiny.
Telangana emerged as the frontrunner in terms of nomination filings, with 1488 forms submitted for 17 Parliamentary Constituencies. Following closely behind, Andhra Pradesh saw 1103 nominations across 25 PCs. Notably, the 7-Malkajgiri Parliamentary Constituency in Telangana received the highest number of nomination forms, totaling 177, closely trailed by 13-Nalgonda and 14-Bhongir, both recording 114 nominations each.
