Paramita Satpathy Appointed Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in Odisha’s administrative landscape, senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Paramita Satpathy Tripathy took over as the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in the state on Friday.

A member of the 1989 batch of the IRS, Tripathy brings over three decades of experience in tax administration. She has previously held several important roles within the Income Tax Department in Odisha, known for her competence and commitment to public service.

In addition to her administrative credentials, Tripathy has also made a mark in the literary world. A celebrated Odia author, she has been honoured with multiple prestigious awards, including the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006, the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2016, and the Sarala Award in 2021, for her contributions to contemporary Odia literature.

Her professional journey also includes a tenure as the Director of Finance at the Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (OPGC), where she played a crucial role in financial planning and policy implementation.
