
Bhubaneswar: Following the successful observance of the Pani Panchayat fortnight in 117 divisions on January 16, the Pakhya has now advanced to its second phase, encompassing 30 districts across the state. The Pakhya serves as a platform to recognize the significant contributions of Pani Panchayats and farmers in the water sector, aiming to raise awareness among stakeholders about various aspects of water governance.
At the district level, a multitude of activities, including debates, essays, paintings, and quizzes, have been conducted. Successful participants will receive accolades during the district-level celebrations. The event will also feature an exhibition of model competitions showcasing the achievements of the first rankers from the division level. Pani Panchayat Samabesha, Information Education Communication (IEC), and Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) activities will be organized through exhibitions and Rath presentations.
Banners, brochures, logos, slogans, taglines, anthems, and oaths have been meticulously prepared to generate enthusiasm and engagement among the public.
In a bid to convey the significance of the event, the Chief Minister’s message is being disseminated to sensitize Pani Panchayat members, farmers, and other crucial stakeholders. The message outlines various government initiatives in the water sector and acknowledges the pivotal role played by Pani Panchayats in water governance, participatory irrigation management, and grassroots-level equity.
Pani Panchayat Raths, equipped with Information Education Communication Social Behavioural Change Communication materials and audiovisuals, have traversed through projects, divisions, and prominent locations in the district. They are slated to return to the district headquarters by January 24, culminating the district-wide observance of this fortnight.
