Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace para-badminton player, Padmashri Pramod Bhagat, who clinched one gold and two bronze medals at the BWF World Para Championship in Thailand (2024), received a grand felicitation from the Department of Sports and Youth Services. Minister Tusarkanti Behera presented Pramod with floral tributes, Uttariya, and Tarkasi plaques, while also honoring his coach, Shiv Prasad Das.
Minister Behera, speaking on the occasion, emphasized the significance of hard work and concentration in achieving success, citing Pramod Bhagat as a shining example. He acknowledged the state government’s commitment to sports development, providing numerous programs for aspiring athletes, and expressed confidence that talents like Pramod Bhagat would bring glory to Odisha.
Sports Director Siddharth Das praised Pramod Bhagat’s efforts, stating that beyond personal victories, Bhagat has become a beacon of inspiration for Odisha’s sports community. He highlighted Bhagat’s achievements on the global stage, from winning gold in the Olympics to representing Odisha, showcasing the state’s sporting prowess worldwide.
