
Government Boosts Natural Farming and Agricultural Efficiency Through Innovative Initiatives (PC: Niti Ayog)
Bhubaneswar: More than 34 lakh farmers in Odisha received the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Monday, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi released funds at an event in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
The Prime Minister transferred approximately ₹22,000 crore to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers across the country, with each eligible beneficiary receiving ₹2,000 as part of the installment.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took to social media to announce that 34,95,147 farmers in Odisha had received the PM-KISAN funds. He also highlighted the inclusion of 3,43,447 new beneficiaries under the scheme in the state, further extending financial support to small and marginal farmers.
Launched by the BJP-led Central Government in 2018, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to provide direct financial assistance to landholding agricultural families, offering ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments. The amount is transferred every four months directly into the bank accounts of registered farmers to support their agricultural activities and ease financial burdens.
