One-time grant of Rs 50,000 for ST/SC students in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has announced a new measure to extend financial assistance to ST-SC students from underprivileged backgrounds pursuing general degree courses in government institutions within the state. Starting this year, eligible students will receive a one-time grant of up to Rs. 50,000.
The decision, which was unveiled by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the Tribes Advisory Council Meeting, underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions and addressing the educational needs of tribal communities. The focus remains on empowering these communities by prioritizing education, livelihood, and safeguarding their rights.
“We have consistently implemented sustained interventions to uplift the socio-economic conditions and meet the educational requirements of our tribal communities,” stated Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. “Education, livelihood, and protecting their rights have remained our key areas of focus.”
