Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Energy Department of the Odisha Government for the financial year 2026-27, outlining key performance targets and strategic priorities for the state-owned power utility.
The agreement reaffirms OHPC’s commitment towards strengthening sustainable energy generation, improving operational efficiency and contributing to Odisha’s long-term energy security and economic development.
The MoU was signed between Additional Secretary of the Energy Department Nibedita Mishra and OHPC Director (Finance) Pranab Kumar Mohanty during a formal ceremony held in Bhubaneswar.
The signing took place in the presence of Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Vishal Kumar Dev, along with senior officials of the state government and OHPC.
According to officials, the agreement sets out the corporation’s operational and financial goals for 2026-27 with focus areas including enhanced power generation efficiency, sustainable hydropower development, improved financial performance and strengthening of energy infrastructure in the state.
The MoU also aims at ensuring OHPC’s continued contribution towards Odisha’s socio-economic growth through reliable and environment-friendly energy production.
Among those present during the signing ceremony were Financial Advisor-cum-Special Secretary of the Energy Department Dr. Debi Dutta Tripathy, Additional Secretary Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan, OHPC Director (HR) Sandeep Patnaik, Senior General Manager (Electrical) Sangram Keshari Das, General Manager (Finance) P.M. Rout, General Manager (Electrical) Jogesh Chandra Sahu, Manager (Finance) Lokanath Mohanty and Company Secretary Jyotirmaya Panigrahi.
Officials said the agreement reflects the state government’s continued emphasis on strengthening the power sector through efficient management, sustainable energy practices and strategic planning to meet Odisha’s growing energy demands.
