Odisha’s Sanjukta Sethi Honored with National Florence Nightingale Award for Exemplary Healthcare Service

Bhubaneswar: Sanjukta Sethi, a dedicated nursing officer from Malkangiri, Odisha, has been felicitated with the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award for 2024. The award, presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, recognizes her outstanding contribution to healthcare and her selfless service to the community.

Sethi was among the select nursing professionals honored at the event for their exceptional commitment to public health and patient care. The National Florence Nightingale Awards are regarded as one of the highest accolades in the nursing profession, celebrating the tireless efforts of healthcare workers across India.

Congratulatory messages poured in for Sethi from leaders in Odisha, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik both praising her dedication.

Taking to Twitter, Odisha CM Majhi wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Sushree Sanjukta Sethi, a dedicated healthcare worker from Malkangiri district, for being honored with the prestigious Florence Nightingale Award by President Droupadi Murmu. Your sacrifice, dedication, and public service are the finest examples of women’s empowerment. Lord Jagannath may bless you with a bright future.”

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also lauded Sethi’s achievement, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “My best wishes to Sanjukta Sethi of Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital who has been felicitated with the National Florence Nightingale Nurse Award for outstanding work in the field of healthcare. This is a matter of glory for Odisha. Wishing her more success in the coming days.”
