Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Assures Madhya Pradesh Farmers of Soybean Purchase at MSP

Bhopal: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has reassured the farmers of Madhya Pradesh that their soybean will be purchased at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), following concerns over falling market prices. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to agriculture and farmer welfare, he stated, “Serving farmers is like worshipping God for us. Agriculture and farmers’ welfare are the top priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Addressing the issue of soybean prices dropping below MSP, Chouhan explained that the central government acted swiftly to address the concerns of Madhya Pradesh’s farmers. “Just yesterday morning at 9 a.m., I gave the message to purchase soybean at MSP. The Madhya Pradesh government immediately responded, and by evening, we received their formal proposal to purchase soybean at MSP,” he said.

The Union Minister further highlighted the rapid response by the central government. “As soon as we received the proposal last night, the approval to buy soybean at MSP was granted by this morning. I assure the farmers of Madhya Pradesh that there is no need to worry. Soybean will be bought at MSP rates, and farmers will receive full payment for their hard work,” he stated.

Chouhan also mentioned that similar initiatives were previously undertaken in states like Maharashtra and Karnataka, where soybean was purchased at MSP, further underlining the government’s dedication to protecting farmers’ interests.
