Odisha’s Green Revolution: CM Naveen Patnaik Initiates Major Hydrogen and Ammonia Projects

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move towards sustainable development, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stones for two groundbreaking projects focusing on green hydrogen and green ammonia in Gopalpur, Odisha’s Ganjam district.

ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited is set to establish a green ammonia plant in Gopalpur, investing a whopping Rs 27,000 crore. The plant, boasting a 1.10 MMTPA capacity, is anticipated to provide employment opportunities for approximately 3,700 individuals, according to official sources.

Simultaneously, Avaada Green H2 Private Limited is gearing up for its green hydrogen/ammonia production facility in Gopalpur, with a substantial investment of Rs 8,000 crore. With a capacity of 0.5 MTPA, this project is expected to generate job opportunities for at least 1,500 youths.

The Chief Minister also marked the commencement of a ‘Utility Corridor’ linking Gopalpur port to Tata Steel SEZ at the port town. The corridor, set to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 128.88 crore, aims to enhance connectivity and facilitate efficient utility services, sources reported.

Additionally, Naveen Patnaik inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a range of developmental projects in Ganjam district, with a collective value of Rs 3,952 crore. These initiatives underscore the state’s commitment to sustainable industrial growth and employment generation, aligning with the broader vision of fostering eco-friendly practices and economic progress.
