Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Joint Commissioner, State Transport Authority, Cuttack, for possession of disproportionate assets. He was taken into custody following an extensive investigation and will be presented before the court today.
A case has been registered against Mohanty under Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No. 2/2025, based on searches conducted across multiple locations linked to him. The raids revealed massive unexplained assets, including three multi-storeyed buildings, a 4-BHK flat in Bhubaneswar worth ₹1 crore, two benami flats in Puri, 11 plots, a 14-acre farmhouse, 2.1 kg of gold, ₹17.55 lakh in cash, and two benami four-wheelers.
Despite being questioned, Mohanty failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the substantial wealth accumulated beyond his known sources of income. The Vigilance Department continues its investigation, and further scrutiny of financial records and assets is underway.
