Bhubaneswar: Odisha is gearing up to transform its healthcare landscape with the launch of the National Digital Health Mission. Announced by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, this initiative will provide citizens with a centralized platform to access their complete medical history, simplifying healthcare processes and improving treatment outcomes.
Central to this groundbreaking initiative is the introduction of the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card, overseen by the National Health Authority (NHA). The card will allow individuals to digitally register their health information and access their records with ease.
“The ABHA card will enable instant access to a patient’s medical history by scanning a QR code, offering healthcare providers crucial insights into past illnesses and treatments,” said Minister Mahaling. This system aims to ensure that healthcare is not only more efficient but also tailored to the individual needs of patients.
To further enhance its impact, the ABHA card will be integrated with the Ayushman Bharat scheme, providing additional healthcare benefits. The application process for the card will be conducted online, ensuring convenience for all residents.
The Odisha government has set an ambitious target to roll out the cards statewide by February 2025. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of making healthcare accessible, efficient, and data-driven.
