Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Empowerment, and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, emphasized the urgent need for energy conservation measures during a meeting held at Kharavela Bhawan. Senior officials from the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) presented plans for enhancing energy efficiency in the state.
The meeting highlighted collaboration between EESL and the Odisha government to provide low-power consumption appliances to consumers at affordable prices. Detailed discussions focused on initiatives like the Urjaveer and GovEasEE schemes, along with the screening of a short film showcasing their potential impact.
One of the key decisions involved replacing old fans and electrical appliances in government offices with energy-efficient alternatives. Deputy CM Singh Deo instructed department officials to meticulously review these schemes and expedite their implementation to ensure early benefits for consumers and government facilities.
Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, Vishal Dev, along with EIC Pyarimohan Mishra and senior EESL officials, participated in the meeting. The collective efforts aim to establish Odisha as a model state for energy conservation and efficiency.
