Bhubaneswar: The 38th National Games is set to take place in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025, with Odisha fielding a strong contingent of 302 athletes and 75 support staff for the prestigious event.
In a send-off ceremony held at the Kalinga Stadium today, Odisha’s Sports Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, extended his best wishes to the athletes and staff, expressing confidence in their abilities to excel on the national stage.
Addressing the participants, the Minister said, “Our athletes are our pride and glory. In the previous edition of the National Games, Odisha bagged 58 medals, including 10 gold medals. I am confident that this year, our athletes will surpass that record and bring more laurels to the state. Their hard work and determination will make us all proud.”
The Odisha contingent, comprising participants from a diverse range of sports, has been preparing rigorously to compete against the nation’s best athletes. With their remarkable track record in the last National Games, expectations are high for a strong performance this time as well.
