Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded another positive COVID-19 case, bringing the state’s active patient count to three, according to sources on Tuesday. The health condition of all three patients is reportedly stable, and they are currently undergoing treatment. The initial COVID-19 case in the state was identified on December 3, followed by another positive case on December 19.
These recent cases emerge amid a rise in JN.1 sub-variant cases across various parts of the country, causing concerns about a potential spike in COVID-19 cases.
In the past 24 hours, 628 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in other states, bringing the nationwide total to over 4,000 patients. Additionally, one COVID-19-related death was reported in Kerala on Monday.
Concerned about the emergence of the JN.1 variant of COVID-19, the The Health and Family Welfare department in Odisha has issued an advisory, urging specific categories of individuals, especially the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, to wear facemasks when venturing outdoors.
