New Delhi: Krushna Chandra Patra, Minister for Science and Technology, Food Supply, and Consumer Welfare, met with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh today to discuss the future of scientific and technological development in Odisha. Dr. Singh, who holds multiple portfolios including Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and Atomic Energy, congratulated Patra on his recent electoral victory and new ministerial responsibilities.
During the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his optimism about the “double engine” government—one where both the central and state governments are aligned politically—boosting Odisha’s position on the investment map. He emphasized that this synergy could significantly enhance entrepreneurship and innovation among the state’s youth.
“Odisha is home to many institutions under the Ministry of Science and Technology, especially those involved in space and technology,” remarked Dr. Singh. He also praised the state, referring to it as the “land of Lord Jagannath,” for its historical contributions to India’s scientific community.
Patra, in turn, praised the achievements of the scientific ministries under Dr. Singh’s leadership and sought his continued guidance and support. Dr. Singh assured full cooperation from the central government in advancing Odisha’s scientific and technological landscape.
