Bhubaneswar: Youth are the architects of the future, playing a crucial role in nation-building and in realizing the vision of Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047, said Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy. She was addressing the State-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, held today at the Odisha Legislative Assembly premises, emphasizing the importance of empowering young minds from the grassroots level.
The two-day event, inaugurated by Speaker Surama Padhy in the Assembly’s conference hall, has drawn 140 participants from various districts across Odisha. The winners from this state-level competition will go on to represent Odisha at the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Program in New Delhi.
The event was attended by Deputy Speaker Bhavani Shankar Bhoi, Minister of Higher Education, Sports & Youth Services and Odia Language, Literature & Culture Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Electronics & IT and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Mahaling, Digapahandi MLA Siddhant Mohapatra, Balasore MLA Manas Kumar Dutta, and Odisha Assembly Secretary Shri Satyabrata Raut. They commended the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to leadership and policy discussions.
Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament aims to foster leadership qualities among young individuals. This initiative provides a national platform for youth to engage in policy debates, governance discussions, and leadership development, equipping them with the skills to contribute meaningfully to India’s progress.
The program highlights the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, ensuring that the next generation of leaders is well-prepared to shape the future of Odisha and India. As the competition progresses to the national level, the young representatives from Odisha will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas and vision for a developed and self-reliant nation.
