Odisha Health Department Issues Advisory Following Bird Flu Outbreak

Bhubaneswar: Following the detection of bird flu in parts of Odisha, Public Health Director Dr. Bijay Mohapatra has advised residents to refrain from consuming chicken for the next few days. The health department has urged all districts to implement strict preventive measures to curb the virus’s spread.

Dr. Mohapatra announced that district-wise fever surveillance teams will be established to monitor for symptoms related to the outbreak. Pipili has emerged as a focal point of the bird flu cases, with a rapid response team already deployed to assess and control the situation. A containment zone has been declared in the affected areas.

The health official also emphasized the need for caution, advising the public to avoid contact with birds suspected of being infected. He reassured citizens that the government is taking all necessary steps to manage the situation and protect the health of the population.
