Odisha Has Adequate LPG and Fuel Stock, Minister Krushna Chandra Patra Assures

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday reviewed the availability and distribution of LPG, petrol and diesel across the state at a high-level meeting chaired by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The meeting, held at the Annapurna Conference Hall, was attended by Principal Secretary of the Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department Sanjay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation K. Sudarshan Chakraborty, senior departmental officials and representatives from major oil marketing companies including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, Reliance Industries and GAIL.

During the meeting, the minister assured that the state has sufficient stock of cooking gas and fuel and urged citizens not to panic over supply concerns. He reviewed the distribution process to LPG distributors and fuel retail outlets and directed officials to ensure that consumers do not face any inconvenience.

To strengthen monitoring, Patra instructed district collectors to submit daily reports on fuel supply and availability in their respective districts. Officials were also asked to remain vigilant to maintain a smooth distribution network across the state.

Referring to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, the minister advised people to remain alert but calm. He warned against black marketing and hoarding of LPG and fuel, stating that departmental teams have been deployed to conduct raids and that strict legal action will be taken against violators.

Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said the department is maintaining detailed data on the daily demand and stock position of fuel in the state. He added that marketing officers have been assigned to closely monitor supply to critical institutions such as SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and other important establishments to ensure uninterrupted services.

The state government reiterated that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain a stable and uninterrupted supply of LPG and fuel for households and institutions across Odisha.
