New Delhi: Indian Railways has introduced upgraded interiors for the next-generation Amrit Bharat Express coaches, with a sample coach now ready for inspection.
The prototype coach was inspected by the Minister of Railways at New Delhi Railway Station, showcasing a redesigned interior aimed at enhancing passenger comfort, safety, and overall travel experience.
The upgraded coaches feature thoughtfully curated interior colour themes, with coordinated shades across key elements such as PVC flooring, seats and berths, snack tables, curtains, and lavatory spaces. The design reflects a modern and uniform aesthetic while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance.
A key highlight of the new coaches is the use of materials compliant with HL3 fire safety standards, reinforcing passenger safety alongside improved visual appeal. Officials noted that the upgraded interiors strike a balance between functionality and elegance, catering to the needs of diverse passenger segments.
The initiative is part of Indian Railways’ broader push to modernise its rolling stock and elevate onboard ambience. By introducing enhanced design standards and safety features, the Railways aims to deliver a more comfortable and world-class travel experience to passengers across the country.
The rollout of these next-generation Amrit Bharat coaches is expected to further strengthen efforts to upgrade train travel infrastructure and align services with evolving passenger expectations.
