Odisha Govt Simplifies MACP Scheme for Staff of Fully Aided Private Colleges

Bhubaneswar: Enhancing the career progression opportunities for teaching and non-teaching staff in fully aided private colleges, the Odisha Government has announced simplifications to the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme. The decision, announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, is set to benefit employees covered under the Odisha Revised Pay Scale Rules, 2017.

Under the revised guidelines, the MACP scheme will now be determined based on the date of receipt of the first grant, rather than the date of receipt of the 100% grant. This modification is expected to streamline the process and ensure more timely career advancements for eligible staff members.

Furthermore, in a bid to attract and retain talented faculty members in the teaching profession within fully-aided private colleges, special provisions have been introduced to encourage the pursuit of a PhD degree. As part of these incentives, faculty members who acquire additional qualifications of a PhD during their employment will be granted two advance increments in the appropriate pay scale at the entry level.
