Odisha Govt Sets Up 24×7 Help Desk for KIIT Students Amid Safety Concerns

Bhubaneswar: In response to the recent tragic incident at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), the Higher Education Department of Odisha has set up a 24×7 help desk to address student safety, security, and academic well-being. This initiative aims to assist affected students and their families while ensuring a smooth return to campus for those who had left following the incident.

The unfortunate death of a student at the private university, along with the subsequent actions taken by the institution, has raised serious concerns among students, parents, and authorities. To manage the situation effectively, the Higher Education Department has appointed Kali Prasanna Mohapatra, Director of Higher Education, as the Nodal Officer for the help desk. He will be assisted by Deputy Director Dr. Rajata Manasingh and a team of nine personnel, who will oversee the desk’s round-the-clock operations.

  • Address concerns related to students’ personal well-being and academic progress.
