Odisha Govt Sanctions Rs10 Cr for the development of Pandit Raghunath Murmu memorial
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government sanctioned Rs 10 crore for establishing a memorial of Santali script inventor Guru Gomke Pandit Raghunath Murmu in the Mayurbhanj district.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved the plan given by the district administration for the development of the Pandit Raghunath Murmu memorial.
As per the plan, Rs 75 lakh will be spent for the development of Pandit Raghunath Murmu’s Samadhi Peeth located at Dandbose – Kapi-Buru in the Mayurbhanj district. A meditation centre will also be set up for Rs 75 lakh.
The government is planning to spend Rs 3 crore for the development of a boundary wall and connecting roads at Kapi-Buru, while Rs 2 crore will be spent for an auditorium and research centre.
The district administration will spend Rs 1 crore on dormitory and other facilities for the convenience of tourists, while Rs 70 lakh will be spent for the beautification and reception of Kapi-Buru. For the development of Dandbose, Bidu Chandan outdoor area and Marang-Ahara pond another Rs 1 crore will be spent.
This apart, the state government has decided to spend Rs 80 lakh for drinking water and electrification.
All the work will be completed by the Public Works Department under the 5T programme. The Chief Minister has directed the district administration to complete the work as soon as possible.
