Bhubaneswar: With the much-awaited Jagar Jatra of Lord Lingaraj set to take place on Wednesday, the Odisha government conducted a final review meeting to ensure seamless arrangements for the grand religious event. The high-level meeting, chaired by Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, focused on coordination among departments and officials to facilitate a smooth experience for devotees.
Minister Harichandan underscored the significance of teamwork and urged all officials, employees, and volunteers to diligently fulfill their responsibilities. He emphasized the need for proper execution of rituals and security measures, ensuring that all arrangements are in place for the massive influx of devotees.
A key highlight of the meeting was the announcement that the sacred Mahadeep would be lifted atop the temple at 10 PM, marking the culmination of the day’s religious proceedings. Officials also discussed various logistical aspects, including traffic control, designated parking zones, availability of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, emergency medical services, fire safety measures, sanitation, and security surveillance through CCTV monitoring.
Authorities also coordinated with temple trust board members, volunteers, and local organizations to streamline the event’s management. The review meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das, and senior temple officials. With final preparations in place, the state government remains committed to ensuring a safe and well-organized celebration for all devotees attending the holy Jagar Jatra.
