Odisha Govt Renames ‘Mo Bus’ as ‘Ama Bus’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra announced on Saturday that the popular ‘Mo Bus’ service will be renamed as ‘Ama Bus’. The decision aims to create a more inclusive and community-driven image for the transport network.

According to the minister, the change was made to shed the perception of exclusivity associated with ‘Mo Bus,’ which translates to ‘My Bus,’ and instead emphasize collective ownership through ‘Ama Bus,’ meaning ‘Our Bus.’ The rebranding aligns with the people-centric vision of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s government, reinforcing its commitment to public welfare.

Alongside the renaming, the government is also introducing enhanced safety measures, including the installation of cameras on the front and back of buses to prevent accidents. This initiative follows reports of recent mishaps involving Mo Bus vehicles, prompting authorities to take steps to improve passenger and road safety.
