
Bhubaneswar: In a major initiative to facilitate free darshan of Lord Jagannath for underprivileged devotees, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has announced the launch of the ‘Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana.’ The scheme has been allocated a budget of Rs. 30 crore in the state’s annual budget.
CM Majhi emphasized that the initiative aims to fulfill the aspirations of devotees from economically weaker sections who wish to visit Puri and have darshan of Lord Jagannath along with Mahaprasad.
“Every Odia desires to have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath in his lifetime. In order to fulfill the wishes of very poor devotees, our Government will launch the ‘Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana’ whereby they will travel to Puri, have Darshan of Shree Jagannath and Mahaprasad free of cost. For this purpose, I allocate Rs. 30 crore in the Budget Estimate,” Majhi announced.
