Odisha Govt Introduces ‘Opt-In’ Feature for Subhadra Yojana Beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to enhance accessibility to women-focused financial assistance, the Odisha government has launched a new ‘Opt-In’ feature on the Subhadra Yojana portal. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday, marking another step towards inclusive welfare initiatives in the state.

The ‘Opt-In’ feature allows beneficiaries who may have accidentally opted out of the scheme to log in and voluntarily re-enroll, ensuring they regain access to the financial benefits provided under the Subhadra Yojana.

Sharing the update on her social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Deputy Chief Minister Parida emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible woman in the state benefits from the scheme.

“With the introduction of the ‘Opt-In’ provision, we are ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind. This update reflects our unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and financial inclusion in Odisha,” Parida stated.

The Subhadra Yojana, a flagship initiative of the Odisha government, provides financial assistance to women across the state, aiming to uplift their socio-economic status.

This new feature is expected to address cases where eligible women inadvertently opted out of the scheme, thus reinforcing the government’s focus on reaching the last mile in its welfare programs. Beneficiaries can now visit the Subhadra Yojana portal, log in, and re-enroll to resume receiving their benefits.

The move has been widely appreciated, with experts and citizens lauding the government’s proactive approach to resolving administrative hurdles and ensuring equitable access to welfare schemes.

As the state continues to innovate and refine its welfare programs, the ‘Opt-In’ provision highlights Odisha’s commitment to leveraging technology for better governance and service delivery.
