Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government conducted an additional round of centralised online student allotment under the RTE Paradarshi Portal on August 31 for the 2026-27 academic session, with 501 students from economically weaker and disadvantaged groups allotted seats through an online lottery.
The additional admission round was organised to provide greater access to children covered under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.
The registration process through the RTE Paradarshi portal was open from August 14 to 27. During this period, 989 applications were received, of which 629 were verified by Block Education Officers (BEOs).
The verified applications were placed for the centralised online lottery at 4 pm on August 31 in the chamber of the Director, Elementary Education. Of the applications considered for allotment, 501 students were selected and allotted seats through the online lottery process.
The admission process for the selected students will commence on September 1 and continue until September 19, 2026.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring that children belonging to economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups get access to educational opportunities in accordance with the provisions of the RTE Act.
Parents or applicants seeking clarification regarding the allotment or admission process can contact the RTE helpline at 18003456722.
