Odisha CM Unveils Srimandir Parikrama Project in Puri

Bhubaneswar: In a momentous ceremony, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the eagerly awaited Srimandir Parikrama Project in the sacred town of Puri today. The inauguration, graced by the presence of Gajapati Maharaja Divyasingha Deva, unfolded after the conclusion of yajna rituals.

Welcoming the Chief Minister with warmth, Divyasingha Deva extended his greetings moments before the inauguration commenced. The event witnessed the convergence of thousands of devotees who flocked to Puri to partake in this historic moment. To ensure the smooth conduct of the mega event, 80 platoons of the police force were deployed to provide security to VIPs and devotees, maintain law and order, and manage traffic.

Focusing on safety, the administration strategically installed around 500 CCTV cameras across the coastal town, forming an integral part of the foolproof security arrangements for the inaugural ceremony.

The ambitious heritage corridor project, known as the Srimandir Parikrama Project, comes to life with an investment of approximately Rs 800 crore by the state government. Spanning a 75-meter corridor around the temple, the project aims to offer expansive and unobstructed views of the Meghanada Pacheri, providing devotees with a clear visual access to the Srimandir, Meghanada Pacheri, and Neelchakra. Beyond visual enhancements, the project is designed to offer additional amenities to visitors, enhancing their overall experience.

As the Srimandir Parikrama Project unfolds, it marks a significant milestone in the cultural and spiritual landscape of Puri, showcasing the state’s commitment to preserving heritage and providing devotees with a transformative pilgrimage experience.
