Odisha CM Honours Contributions to Education with ‘Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar’

Bhubaneswar: In recognition of outstanding contributions to the education sector, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presented the ‘Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar’ to districts, blocks, students, teachers, alumni committees, gram panchayats, district and block education officers. The initiative, aligned with the 5T (Teamwork, Transparency, Technology, Time Leading to Transformation) framework, aims to foster a social movement in education and revolutionize the education system.

The awards, divided into individual and institutional categories, witnessed the distribution of 7,519 prizes across 16 departments, totaling Rs 138 crore. In the Individual Prize (Secondary) category, meritorious students, teachers, headmasters, Regional Resource Center Coordinators, Block Education Officers, and District Education Officers were recognized for their exemplary performance in the matric examination. Additionally, awards were bestowed upon headmasters and teachers in the Individual Prize (Primary) category.

In the Institutional (Secondary) category, districts, blocks, schools, school management committees, alumni committees, and gram panchayats received accolades. The Institutional (Primary) category honored schools, and Institutional prizes were awarded to district education and training institutes.

The awards, totaling Rs 138 crore, were conferred for the overall development of school education and the intellectual growth of children. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, along with other dignitaries, attended the event. Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, highlighted the transformative initiatives in high school education, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of alumni, people’s representatives, and administration. The ‘Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar’ is seen as a catalyst for boosting the confidence and morale of everyone involved in education, fostering a revolution in secondary education in Odisha.
