Cross Country Dialogue on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Explores Pathways for India’s Healthcare Landscape

New Delhi: In a collaborative effort between the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) and NITI Aayog, a significant Cross Country Dialogue on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) took place on January 30. Hon’ble Member (Health), NITI Aayog, Dr. V. K. Paul, set the tone for the day-long deliberation, emphasizing the critical themes of demand-side health financing and primary healthcare in the pursuit of achieving UHC.

The dialogue served as a platform for policy practitioners, health sector experts, academicians, economists, and thought leaders, both from India and abroad, to exchange ideas and delve into the global applicability of UHC. The dual focus on demand-side health financing and primary healthcare provided a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the journey toward achieving UHC.

The insights gathered from this collaborative dialogue are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping strategies and pathways for realizing Universal Health Coverage in India. As the nation navigates the complexities of healthcare, this cross-country engagement contributes valuable perspectives that can inform policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all. The commitment to UHC remains a shared endeavor, and such dialogues provide a space for collective learning and collaborative action in the pursuit of a healthier and more equitable society.
