Bhubaneswar: In a major push to promote Odisha’s religious and cultural heritage, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced plans to transform Mahima Gadee at Joranda in Dhenkanal into a world-class religious destination. Assuring adequate financial support, he emphasized that no shortage of funds would hinder the development of the sacred site.
During his visit to Mahima Gadee, the Chief Minister directed the Dhenkanal Collector to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the construction of a magnificent temple complex. Acknowledging the long-standing demands of Mahima Saints, devotees, and local residents, Majhi reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving Odisha’s spiritual legacy and enhancing pilgrimage infrastructure.
In addition to temple development, the Chief Minister announced key infrastructure projects for Joranda, including the formation of a new administrative block, improved drinking water facilities, construction of bypass roads, and the establishment of a police station to ensure better security and accessibility.
Majhi reaffirmed his government’s focus on protecting Odia Asmita (identity) and promoting religious tourism, stating that all temples and spiritual sites across Odisha would undergo significant improvements. His visit included seeking blessings from Alekha Swami, interacting with Mahima saints, and discussing the future vision for the Mahima Peeth with the sadhus.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, Dhenkanal MP Rudra Narayan Pani, Kamakhyanagar MLA Shatrughan Jena, and Hindol MLA Seemarani Naik, who expressed their support for the initiative.
