
Bhubaneswar: Preparations for the world-famous Rath Yatra in Puri, scheduled for June 27, 2025, have officially begun with a high-level security review meeting chaired by Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania at the DGP camp office in Bhubaneswar. The meeting focused on crowd management, security arrangements, and logistical challenges to ensure a smooth and orderly celebration of the grand festival.
Recognizing the massive gathering of devotees from across India and abroad, DGP Khurania directed senior police officials to initiate comprehensive security planning. The discussion covered key issues such as crowd control measures, deployment of personnel, and enhanced surveillance. Emphasis was placed on installing CCTV cameras from Uttara Chack to Puri, implementing better traffic management strategies, and strengthening barricade systems to prevent overcrowding.
Additional focus was given to parking arrangements, accommodations for police personnel, and coordination with the district administration for immediate issue resolution during the festival. Special arrangements for an orderly darshan of Lord Jagannath were also discussed, ensuring that devotees have a safe and hassle-free experience.
