Bhubaneswar: Addressing the concerns of the employees in aided educational institutions, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced enhanced leave benefits for the workforce. The decision comes in the wake of proposals received during the visit of 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman, Karthik Pandian, to various districts, where concerns related to leaves were brought to the forefront by employees and their unions.
As per the directive, employees of all new grant-aided educational institutions in the state will now be entitled to 15 days of casual leave per annum. Additionally, female employees will be granted full maternity leave, providing crucial support during maternity periods.
The move is expected to benefit approximately 33,420 employees, including both teaching and non-teaching staff, employed across 2560 High Schools, 940 Upper Primary Schools, 39 Sanskrit Colleges, and 138 Madrasas in the state.
