Odisha CM Announces 11 MSME Parks to Boost Economic Growth

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the establishment of 11 MSME Parks as a key initiative to drive economic growth in Odisha during the 25th Bharat Prativa Samaroha, organized by the Jay Bharat Foundation and Bharat Masala in Barang, Cuttack district, on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Majhi stated, “Economic development in Odisha can be achieved through a focus on industry, particularly MSMEs. Our government is working towards this goal, and organizations like Bharat Masala can serve as role models.”

Highlighting the state’s industrial priorities, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of both large-scale industries and MSMEs, noting their potential to boost employment and drive overall economic growth. He pointed to Bharat Masala’s success story, which started with an initial capital of ₹400 and has since grown into a business worth ₹600 crore, as a prime example of the entrepreneurial spirit that Odisha aims to cultivate.

To further support entrepreneurs, Majhi announced the state’s plan to assist 1,000 entrepreneurs annually through Start-Up India and Incubation Centers. He also revealed plans to establish 11 MSME Parks, which will foster growth by providing financial assistance, interest repayment, and capital flow support to MSME units.

Majhi’s vision for the state extends to long-term goals, with aspirations of achieving a “Samruddha Odisha” (Prosperous Odisha) by 2036 and a “Bikasita Odisha” (Developed Odisha) by 2047. He encouraged Odisha’s youth to engage in start-ups and MSMEs, drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of industries serving as trustees of society and reinvesting profits into community welfare.

Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik also lauded Bharat Masala for its contributions to spice cultivation and for inspiring Odisha’s youth to pursue entrepreneurship. Industry, Skill Development, and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain echoed the government’s commitment to MSME development, which he said would further expand employment opportunities across the state.

Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi, Bharat Masala founder Surendra Nath Panda, and Managing Director Sushant Kumar Panda also addressed the event, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Bharat Masala’s contribution to Odisha’s industrial growth.
