Odisha Clears Land for 31 Pending Industrial Projects, Boosts MSMEs and Regional Growth

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial ecosystem, the Land Allotment Committee (LAC), chaired by IDCO Chairperson Usha Padhee, IAS, has approved land allocation for 31 long-pending industrial projects, paving the way for accelerated investment and employment generation across the State.

The meeting, held at IDCO Towers here, marked a decisive step towards fast-tracking industrial growth, with the approved projects expected to unlock substantial capital investment and create significant job opportunities in diverse sectors. A large proportion of the proposals belong to the MSME sector, reflecting the government’s continued focus on nurturing small and medium enterprises as key drivers of economic development. Projects from apparel and textiles, food processing, engineering and other emerging industries were also cleared.

In a move aimed at ensuring balanced and inclusive growth, priority was accorded to projects proposed in non-industrial and backward districts such as Koraput, Kalahandi and Rayagada. This approach underscores the State Government’s commitment to reducing regional disparities by promoting industrialisation in less-developed areas.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner-cum-Secretary, MSME Department and Managing Director, IDCO D. Prasanth Kumar Reddy; Managing Director, IPICOL Bhupendra Singh Poonia; Director of Industries Aboli Sunil Naravane; Executive Director, OCAC Kaustuva Dipta Pany; along with other senior officials and members of the Committee.

Reiterating its focus on transparency, efficiency and investor facilitation, the LAC emphasized time-bound decision-making and proactive support to strengthen investor confidence and foster regionally distributed economic growth in Odisha.
