Odisha Celebrates Success: Tiger Population Surges in First All Odisha Tiger Estimation

Bhubaneswar: In a significant achievement, the first-ever All Odisha Tiger Estimation has revealed a substantial increase in the tiger population, with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announcing the presence of 30 tigers and 8 cubs in the state’s forests. This marks a notable rise from the 20 tigers reported in the 2022 estimation.

Taking to his X handle (formerly Twitter), Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared the encouraging news, highlighting that the Similipal Tiger Reserve alone is now home to 27 tigers. The estimation indicates a positive trend in the conservation efforts for these majestic creatures.

Chief Minister Patnaik commended the Forest Department for its unwavering dedication and sustained efforts in creating a hospitable habitat for the national animal to flourish.
