Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to bolster youth empowerment in the state, the Odisha Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has approved revised funding of Rs. 315 crore for the NUA-O initiative. This initiative falls under the Integrated Youth Development Programme (IYDP) and is geared towards empowering the youth to realize their true potential.
The recently introduced “Nua-O” initiative by the State Government signifies ‘New Odisha,’ ushering in a transformative era for youth empowerment. The program aims to enable, motivate, and engage the youth, providing them with the tools to realize their full potential.
Under the NUA-O initiative, there is a concerted effort to promote sports, cultural & literary activities, and social work tailored for the youth within the educational sphere. The program includes organizing sports competitions, district fests, and creative competitions through digital platforms, all designed to engage the youth in progressive endeavors.
With the recent approval, the government is committed to expanding the scope of program activities. This includes organizing district and state-level sports competitions to enhance sports outreach at the grassroots level. The initiative also seeks to increase student participation in district-level “Nua-O” Fest events and introduce Nua-O scholarships for students.
The revised budget of Rs. 315 crore reflects the government’s dedication to fostering innovative and impactful youth welfare and development practices in the state.
