Odisha Cabinet Approves Revised Fee Structure for Advocate General and Housing Project for High Court Staff

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday granted post facto approval for the revision of the fee structure for the Advocate General’s appearances before the High Court, Supreme Court, and various authorities and tribunals. This move comes in response to the substantial increase in the price index and the changing socio-economic conditions in the state.

According to an official press release, the last amendment to the Advocate General’s fee structure was made on April 24, 2016. The revised fees aim to align with current economic realities, ensuring that legal representation remains effective and adequately compensated.

In addition to the fee structure revision, the Cabinet also approved a proposal for the construction of 550 residential quarters for the staff of the Orissa High Court in Cuttack. This project will include 200 D-type quarters and 350 E-type quarters, along with a community hall and playground, all set on 10 acres of land in Sector-13, CDA.

The Cabinet has approved a turnkey tender amounting to Rs 220,40,64,000 for the housing project, which is targeted for completion within a timeframe of 30 calendar months. This initiative aims to provide better living conditions for the judiciary staff, enhancing their work-life balance and overall efficiency.
