Odisha Cabinet Approves Data Dissemination Policy for Official Statistics

Bhubaneswar: To enhance transparency and promote informed decision-making, the Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved the ‘Data Dissemination Policy of Official Statistics, 2024’ for the Directorate of Economics & Statistics (DE&S) under the Planning & Convergence Department.

According to an official press release, the policy will provide a comprehensive framework for the timely release of statistical data and products generated by DE&S, adhering to a fixed calendar. This initiative aims to improve the quality of data while fostering greater user engagement, benefiting policymakers, planners, researchers, and the broader public.

The policy is expected to increase stakeholder participation in the state’s statistical process, generating demand for more relevant statistics and filling existing data gaps in various socio-economic areas across Odisha.
